Dear Amigos,
Happy new year! We sincerely hope you had a much deserved break this holiday, and that 2025 is filled with creative opportunities and growth for each one of you. Now, before we fully grasp the dynamic of January, we want to remember your favorite articles made by us in 2024, so you can check them out in case you haven’t.
We were glad to notice this was our most read article, that means that the hunger for high quality open source type foundries never stops, that’s why we’re constantly updating our list, collecting 15 type foundries so far. Creating and hosting open-source fonts is a huge sacrifice that benefits the design community, allowing designers over the world to keep creating in an accessible way, so make sure to always recognize their work, donate if you can and credit them in your projects. You can check the collection here.
The new face of Jaguar, one of the leading luxury vehicle brands of the world, had the entire internet talking, and our blog wasn’t the exception. A visual identity that lacked personality and opened a debate for a much bigger problem in the industry: mimicking. One of the biggest conversation inside the design community that happened in 2024, you can read our 2 cents here.
Besides curating our favorite free mockups all over the internet, we also make our own. We’re glad that one of our products is a favorite amongst the amazing options we have on our collection. Fun fact: this mockup was build based on a picture taken in Milan, Italy, now you know where you’re designs are being hipotetically designed. How cool is that? You can download it here.
We could never shut up about Apfel Grotesk, and apparently you couldn’t either! The favorite font from our free hub collection was designed by Luigi Gorlero for Collletttivo, an open-source foundry from Italy that we admire a lot (they´re obviously included in our open-source foundries article). You can get Apfel here.
A project that we fell in love with since the beggining. Zanco is a variable typeface that comes in several weights, each more delightful than the other. Designed by Alexander Wright and developed by Rodrigo Fuenzalida for In House International, perfect for brands that want to evoke playfulness while staying fresh and modern. You can read more about Zanco here.
It was a year full of amazing content that we truly enjoyed creating and curating for you. We hope this years brings even more energy, resources, inspiration and creative projects for us. See you soon!
