Today, we’re excited to introduce a new project in our inspiration tab: Pastane Bakery. This branding project by Mubariz Yusifzade, an Art Director and Graphic Designer based in Baku, Azerbaijan, who showcases a new visual identity project. The concept behind Pastane

M: Pastane was designed as a conceptual bakery house envisioned for New York. The project was inspired by the rising process of dough during baking, symbolizing growth and transformation. This idea is visually reflected in the Pastane logo, where the typeface inspired in this process evolves as if “rising” in the oven. To add a dynamic and unique touch, custom stickers were designed for each product, which are applied individually to packaging, reinforcing the brand’s playful yet refined identity.

The driving force behind the project

M: The main motivation for this project, characterized by the use of typeface inspired by dough, was to create an innovative branding concept that showcased my creative approach. I aimed to push boundaries and bring an imaginative vision to life, while developing a distinct identity for a modern bakery.

We’re all about type. What fonts did you use?

M: For the logo, I used PP Telegraf by PangramPangram Type Studio, which supported the “typeface inspired by dough” feeling I was looking for. The secondary font is DM Mono by Colophon Foundry. Both fonts complement the brand’s modern yet approachable character.

The nature of the project

M: This is a self-initiated project designed to express my creativity and explore new ways of approaching branding for a bakery. The goal was to create a unique design solution that reflects the artisan process of baking in a visual and compelling way.
